Go Birdie Go (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use our mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

By using Go Birdie Go, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Services.

1. Information We Collect

Personal Information

  • Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and login credentials.
  • Payment Information: We do not directly collect or store payment details. All purchases are processed through RevenueCat and your app store provider (Apple App Store / Google Play).

Performance Data

We collect golf performance data to provide insights, analytics, and personalized feedback, including:

  • Putting results (made/missed, distance, slope, break)
  • Swing analysis (video, stroke, ball, and body mechanics)
  • Consistency scores
  • Strokes gained and player quality scoring
  • Goals & drills
  • Green condition inputs (stimp, slope, surface)
  • GPS/course data (for round planning, shot tracking, and saved scorecards)
  • Journals and notes
  • Club bag setup and related data

Video Content

Users may upload swing or putting videos. By default, videos are private and viewable only to the account owner. Users may also:

  • Share videos with specific individuals (e.g., coaches or friends)
  • Make videos public, in which case they may be visible to all Go Birdie Go users

Once a video is made public, we cannot control how others use, copy, or share it. Users are solely responsible for the content they choose to share.

Automatically Collected Information

We collect certain information automatically when you use the Services, such as:

  • Device information (model, operating system, unique identifiers)
  • Usage information (features used, session activity)
  • Location information when GPS features are enabled

TrueDepth / Eye Alignment Data

Certain features of Go Birdie Go may use Apple’s TrueDepth API to analyze facial positioning for eye alignment feedback. This data is processed in real time on your device and is not stored, shared, or transmitted to our servers.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and improve the Services
  • Deliver personalized feedback and analytics
  • Track user progress and generate performance reports
  • Enable social features, leaderboards, and comparisons
  • Operate goals, drills, badges, and gamification features
  • Support account management and customer service
  • Monitor usage and troubleshoot issues
  • Conduct internal research and development
  • Comply with legal obligations

3. Data Sharing

Aggregated & Anonymized Data

We may use aggregated and anonymized performance data for:

  • Creating benchmarks and leaderboards
  • Research and product development
  • Go Birdie Go marketing materials
  • Future sharing with partners for research or commercial purposes

This data will never include personally identifiable information.

Third-Party Services

We use third-party providers to support our Services, including but not limited to:

  • Firebase (data storage and authentication)
  • Google Analytics & Firebase Analytics (app usage insights)
  • AdMob / AdSense (advertising)
  • RevenueCat (subscription and purchase management)

These providers may collect or receive information in accordance with their own privacy policies.

Tracking and Advertising

We may use third-party advertising and analytics tools, such as AdMob and AdSense, which rely on device identifiers and similar technologies.

We ask for your permission before enabling this type of tracking, in accordance with Apple’s AppTrackingTransparency framework. You can control or revoke this permission at any time by visiting your device’s Settings > Privacy > Tracking and disabling tracking for Go Birdie Go.

Any data collected for advertising purposes is limited to device-level identifiers and is never sold.

No Sale of Personal Information

We do not sell personal information to third parties.

4. Data Storage & Security

  • All data is stored using Firebase and protected with encryption in transit and at rest.
  • Users may delete their accounts at any time, which will delete or anonymize associated data.
  • We retain anonymized, aggregated data to improve the Services.

5. User Rights

Account & Data Controls

  • Delete: Users may delete their account and associated data through in-app settings or by contacting us.
  • Export: Users may request an export of their data. (This feature is in development and will be available soon.)
  • Manage Sharing: Users control whether their videos remain private, shared with individuals, or made public.

Legal Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under privacy laws (such as GDPR or CCPA), including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data.

6. Children’s Privacy

Go Birdie Go is intended for users age 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware of such data, we will delete it promptly.

7. International Data Transfers

By using the Services, you consent to the transfer of your data to the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate. We take steps to ensure your data is protected consistent with this Privacy Policy.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you within the app or by other means before the changes take effect.
